Ramtech Building Systems, Mansfield, TX has announced that the company will be providing 27 new modular buildings to the Katy Independent School District in Katy, Texas. As the winning bidder, Ramtech will provide the district with twenty-four 1,536 square foot custom portable classroom buildings, along with three 240 square foot modular restroom buildings.
Katy ISD, located just west of Houston, is one of the fastest growing suburbs in the South Texas area. Increased enrollment at all grade levels has required the district to look for alternative facility solutions like modular buildings while they begin an expedited renovation program at their existing campuses. The new portable classrooms and restroom facilities will be used to both accommodate displaced students and meet an expected influx of new students as a result of several new upscale housing developments planned for the area.
Katy ISD is requiring the new modular buildings to be in place prior to a May 25, 2011 deadline. According to Gary White, Ramtech’s V.P. of Sales and Estimating, the school district put out an expedited solicitation for the project and was very pleased with the quality and completeness of the response they received from Ramtech. “Katy indicated that they were very pleased with the quality and professional manner we exhibited in the previous modular buildings we provided to them,” said White, “and they recognized that because we design and manufacture our own product, we can provide them with features that our competitors don’t, and exceed their timeframe in getting the buildings delivered and installed.”
Ramtech Building Systems is the largest provider of portable classroom buildings in the Southwest. Since 1982, Ramtech has successfully manufactured and installed over 2,000 portable and modular classroom buildings. The company maintains an inventory of standard portable double classroom buildings for sale and lease applications.
