Ramtech was able to return to take photos of the recently completed 38,920 square foot modular building we built for Denver International Airport. This was a project in which we worked with Denver-based Wong Strauch Architects, PC in a design-assist role in developing the Type-IIb modular construction project which was part of the second phase of an upgrade and expansion to the Airport’s Concourse A commuter facility.
The concourse building was built as a co-operative effort with other contractors including Hensel Phelps, the prime contractor for the project. Ramtech was responsible for the core and shell construction including the exterior cladding, interior walls with applied gypsum board, complete floor and ceiling assemblies, and the exterior wall and floor penetrations required for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The modular building was installed on a concrete block pier type foundation system.
Our manufacturing division began the fabrication of the modular sections during June of last year and completed the setting of the modular sections at the end of August. Ramtech participated in the finish-out of the interior work which was predominantly completed in mid-December. Denver International Airport will use the new modular-built terminal for a minimum of 5 to 10 years while the Airport develops and moves forward with it’s permanent expansion plans.
Ramtech has entered a permanent modular building project into the Modular Building Institute’s 2018 Awards of Distinction program at the annual MBI World of Modular convention and trade show being held at the Diplomat Beach Resort March 22-25 in Hollywood, Florida. Ramtech has entered the 37,329 square foot campus expansion project that was built for Arlington Classics Academy of Arlington, Texas into the competition’s permanent education category. The modular school building, located on the charter school’s eleven acre Dalworthington Gardens, Texas campus, was built using Ramtech’s Slab-on-Grade Permanent Modular Construction method and provides Arlington Classics Academy with 24 standard classrooms able to accommodate up to 528 additional elementary school students in the third through fifth grades.
