The Modular Building Institute (MBI) has been the trade association representing the commercial modular building industry since 1983.  Throughout the years, MBI has helped its members in a number of ways but the greatest contribution has been MBI’s involvement in state and federal legislative matters.  As stated by the MBI, “the government affairs efforts give our members the opportunity to help shape the rules that govern their business, and do so in a cost effective and coordinated manner.”  The following information is from the MBI’s June 2012 Government Affairs Committee Report as reported by Tom Hardiman, Executive Director of the MBI. Over the last ten years, Ramtech Building System has worked as a major subcontractor to Hensel Phelps Construction Company on numerous federal projects.   Recently, Hensel Phelps selected Ramtech to build a permanent modular barracks facility at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX.   Ramtech was chosen not only because its pricing was competitive, but it was clearly the most experienced modular construction contractor.    (more…)

The blog site for the Modular Building Institute recently posted an article that addressed upcoming spending reductions by the Department of Defense.  The article stated that “Defense spending may be down somewhat, but there’s still plenty of project dollars out there if you know where to look,” while also adding that firms seeking military contracts must keep abreast of five military construction trends. Ramtech took a look at these trends to show how our approach to permanent modular building construction satifies these requirements.  (more…)

Recently, Ramtech Building Systems celebrated a major milestone:  we manufactured our 16,000th modular building section.  Founded in 1982 as a trailer leasing company that purchased modular buildings from wholesale manufacturers, Ramtech opened its own manufacturing facility in Mansfield, Texas in 1985.  It has since manufactured both temporary and permanent modular buildings for commercial, industrial, educational, medical, and government applications.  (more…)
