Ramtech received two Awards of Distinction at the Modular Building Institute’s 27th annual meeting held March 31st in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since 1987, the MBI has publicly recognized the best in non-residential construction through the Awards of Distinction competition.
Ramtech added to its previous year’s awards by picking up a first place award in the Permanent Modular Office category for the Army’s new one and two-story company operations facilities located at Ft. Bliss, Texas. Comprised of eight separate structures totaling 95,280 square feet, the facilities will accommodate administrative functions for the relocation of enlisted personnel including infantry, artillery, and aviation companies. The project was constructed using Ramtech’s Accelerated Building System, and meets Federal HFC and ATFP blast-resistant standards as well as USGBC LEED silver certification requirements.
Ramtech also received an Honorable Mention award for its part in providing modular construction services on the development of a new replacement hospital for South Cameron Parish Memorial Hospital in Cameron, LA. Partnering with Baltimore, Maryland-based Williams Scotsman, Ramtech manufactured and installed a 26,128 square foot critical access hospital to replace the original structure that was completely destroyed in the devastation caused by hurricane Katrina. Serving a wide area of southwest Louisiana, the new facility is placed on pilings that allow the building to sit eight feet above the existing grade to minimize the chance of future flood damage.
Ramtech was also recognized by the MBI for its 25 years of active leadership in the association. The MBI is the only international, non-profit trade association serving the commercial modular industry. The association is comprised of regular members including wholesale manufacturers, direct manufacturers, and dealers of commercial modular buildings and associate members that supply building components, services, and financing to the industry.
These were big wins for Ramtech. Looking forward to seeing all of the Awards of Distinction entries at the 2014 MBI annual conference being held for the first time in Texas March 21-24 in San Antonio.
I agree with you.
Steve, you’re right. Both were perfect applications for Ramtech’s ABS & PMC forms of construction.
I really like this approach
